P&G, its employees and retirees have long been active in the communities in which we work. We engage as volunteers and we offer company support too. Increasingly, the focus of our support is on improving the quality of life for children in need and helping them to Live, Learn and Thrive.

We seek to help children:

Over the past year, P&G contributed more than $125 Million (about €96 Million) to support communities around the world. Here are some examples:

Children’s Safe Drinking Water program
This global program is an example of P&G using our expertise and technology to help millions of children in developing countries. More than 4,000 children still die every day from diseases caused by unsafe drinking water. To help address this, P&G is working with a diverse group of partners to provide our PUR Purifier of Water technology in the developing world. Our goal is to reduce the sickness and death in children that results from drinking contaminated water. Our program includes not-for-profit social marketing and emergency relief components.

“SOS Enfance Mal-logée” (SOS badly-housed children) in France
Launched in 2001 by the “Fondation de France”, this program helps provide better housing for children and build awareness of an issue that affects 500,000 children in France. P&G’s support has helped deliver over €1.6 Million Euros to benefit this program.

Project Live, Learn & Thrive in Spain
For the first corporate philanthropy initiative in Spain, the charity Aldeas Infantiles SOS has been chosen. It is the Spanish chapter of the global charity SOS Children’s Villages. In Spain, this charity offers a home for Spain’s neglected children giving them a roof, education and mother and father figures to help them to live, to learn and to thrive. The children live in villages located across Spain and the charity also supports Social Centres which offer additional educational and social support for “children at risk”.
