a candle maker from England, and James Gamble, a soap maker from Ireland.
These two Europeans emigrated to America and created what is now
one of the world’s leading consumer goods companies.
P&G employs 138,000 employees in over 80 countries worldwide. Our European business dates back to
1930 when we opened a subsidiary in the UK. Since then we have expanded. Today, P&G has a presence in every
country in Western Europe and the region represents about a quarter of our total business.
